The economy of Azerbaijan has recorded a fast development rate of economy in the world: in the year 2007, the GDP of the country increased by 6.5% to $20.4 billion. Since 1996, the economic growth continues without a\u00a0break; during 10 years the economy of Azerbaijan has reached a\u00a0growth of 13.6% every year (in comparison with the year 1995, the level of the GDP had risen 8.4 times). In the year 2007, Azerbaijan realized import-export operations with 135 countries in the total cost of $10.5 billion. $5.5 billion (52.2%) of it represents the export and $5 billion (47.8%) the import. The bilance of trade payments is represented in the amount of $461.9 mil. A great part of foreign operations (81.7%) includes trade with Turkey, Russia, Italia, Iran, USA, Ukraine, Germany, Great Britain, Georgia, France, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Japan, China, India and South Korea.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mutual trade exchange between Azerbaijan and Slovakia in the year 2008 reached the amount of 26.8 mil. EUR. The import to Slovakia is 5 mil. EUR, which represents the accumulation with an index of 17 859% in comparison with the year 2007. The export reached 21.8 mil. EUR, which is, in comparion with the same period of the year 2007, the accumulation by 110%.
\nIn the import, oils and mineral fuels dominate with the share of 96.6%, enginery and machinery cover 3%. From Slovakia, machines and transport mechanisms (63.3%), market products (27.8%) and industrial products (6.6%) are exported. Slovakia has a positive amount of balance with Azerbaijan in the amount of 16.9 mil. EUR.<\/span><\/p>\n
